Caught the girls coming into night after a gorgeous afternoon. Weather looks beautiful for the next week. Great start to the new year!

Meet Ralph, one of the two livestock guardian dogs who live with our sheep. Because of Sam and Ralph, we have yet to lose a single animal to predators, even though we are surrounded by them. 

I sorted the ewes and put the boys in today. Countdown to lambing has officially begun. :-) 

The rams go in on Monday. Looking forward to spending the weekend deciding which girls go with which boy. Lambs will be due around the second of May. This is a bit later than normal for us, but with the drought this year, and the high cost of feed we decided it would be easier on the pasture and our pocket book to lamb a bit later in spring. I'm not going to miss lambing in cold weather either. ;-)
